SURREAL ART: THE ART OF FALLING APART
Each artwork began somewhere real, an experience, memory, relationship, belief or moment that surfaced during my awakening.
Through automatic writing and inner work, I would follow the experience until an image began to form. That image was then conceptualized, photographed, directed, edited and composited into the finished surreal work.The artwork became the final expression of what I had seen inside the experience.
THE EDEN DECK
The surreal images eventually became something more than individual artworks. Each image already held a story, an experience, a piece of automatic writing and the insight that had emerged through working with it. The Eden Deck brought those pieces together into a digital inner-work deck.Each card becomes a doorway back into the experience behind the image, an invitation to contemplate your own memories, patterns, relationships and inner world through the themes held within it.
A visual archive became an interactive body of inner work.
